Unique in Europe; an exotic and botanic forest of bamboe. It’s worth a walk ! Eugène Mazel was able to realize his dream: to create a bamboo plantation, in 1855. The natural conditions of the site seem to be favourable although he had to bring the water harnessed upstream from the Gardonne. He was able to acclimatize a number of bamboo species. This plantation is worth a visit of at least 1,5 hrs and is great to combine with a daytrip with the train through the Cévennes.
